Huawei unveils Maimang 4 handset

HUAWEI Technologies on Thursday unveiled its latest smartphone.

Maimang 4 features a 5.5-inch, high-resolution curved screen and a smooth metal surface.

It is equipped with a 1,300-pixel rear camera and a front facing one with 500 pixels.

The camera, produced by Sony, has better optical image stabilization than iPhone 6, Huawei said.

The new model has more photography modes and enhanced fingerprint verification that can control the drop down menu.

The handset will be available online on August 7 in the color of champagne, grey and silver.

The standard version with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, designed only for China Telecom users, sells for 2,099 yuan (US$337).

A high-end version with 3GB of RAM and 32GB ROM supports all three carriers in China and costs 2,499 yuan.
