Photographer displays photos taken in over 10 trips in 24 years
PHOTOGRAPHER Shi Zheng will exhibit his photos of the Tibet Autonomous Region on Thursday at the Haishang Art Center.
Dubbed as a “View of Tibet,” the photo collection recorded his more than 10 journeys in Tibet in the past 24 years from January 1989 to last summer.
In more than 50 black and white photos displayed at the exhibition, he recorded the feelings of distance and antiquity in Tibet.
Shi has a 5-year-old son who has been with him to Tibet three times and an 11-year-old daughter who has been with him to Tibet five times.
During his first journey to Tibet, Shi asked passengers on train which places are most attractive in the region. During later journeys, Shi used maps to search for places that make him feel excited or curious.
Shi said that the exhibition is a retrospective of all these trips to Tibet.
Shi earns a living as a professional fashion photographer. He said that he adheres to very high standards as he records beauty in all of his photos, whether at work or in his spare time.
