Shanghai - Handicraft design shown in Xintiandi
Grand Design magazine and Shanghai Xintiandi invited 10 original handicraft designers from home and abroad for a 10-day Grand Design Handmade Exhibition in Xintiandi Style that lasts until Tuesday.
The exhibition is centered on key words such as “authenticity,” “cool play” and “environmental protection,” with original handicraft design works on display including furniture, footwear, eyeglasses, toys, ceramics, bikes and papercut works.
Highlights include a collection of hand-made eyeglasses from Japanese brand True Vintage Revival, which revived the craftsmanship of Japanese handmade eyeglasses in the 1960s and pays homage with the highest tribute to the handicraft.
Zhang Na, an internationally well-known fashion designer, built a “clothes remaking bank”, and weaved the fashionable aesthetics beyond time stitch by stitch; Xiang Zheqing, a toy designer, created a steam punk world that was both classical and futuristic, among other creative designs.
