Burn prevention tips

MOST burns can be prevented, especially in children, by being careful. Parents and schools can take certain precautions that will reduce the risk of children getting burned.

First and foremost, young children should never be left home alone. Dangerous objects like thermal bottles, cups filled with hot beverages or bowls with hot soup or congee need to be placed out of the reach of children.

Parents are also advised to keep young children out of the kitchen when someone is cooking to prevent them from touching a flame.

Also keep lighters, matches and candles out of the reach of children.
