Economic convention has robots, exotic culture, fun
The “person” standing at the gate to welcome guests is a robot. A patrolling guard also is a robot. In the exhibition hall, robots are playing football and transporting materials.
The Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technological Cooperation Convention, though focused on economy and technology, is an eye-catcher for its robots, biochemistry projects, Ferrari sports cars and exotic cultural performances.
The convention is one key part of the West Lake International Expo, a huge collection of business, cultural and gastronomical events.
The expo has cut its opening gala to save money, so the economic convention, from today to October 25, has been adopted as its opening event, where visitors as well as exhibitors from over 40 countries are invited to have fun and seek out business opportunities.
The convention also includes an exhibit on the achievements of Hangzhou’s economy from today to Monday at the Zhejiang World Trade International Exhibition Center.
And there will be a host of other events.
A contract-signing ceremony for multiple companies will be held at 10am today at the H Pavilion of the Zhejiang World Trade International Exhibition Center. A Fortune 500 Entrepreneur’s Roundtable Summit will be held at 11am-12:30pm today at the Dragon Hotel.
Five conferences worth a look include the Global Investment Summit and the International Sensor Technology and Application of the Internet of Things Summit, and five exhibitions will include the Zhejiang Real Estate Expo and the Automobile Industry Expo.
The conference has invited participants from more than 40 countries, including France, Sri Lanka, Slovakia, India, South Africa, Malaysia, Argentina, Italy, Germany and Japan.
