Fun-packed fair at BISS

THE British International School Shanghai's Pudong Summer Fair was attended by more than 2,000 people and raised an incredible 180,000 yuan for local charities. It was a fun-packed day of games, entertainment, food and drink, and shopping. Pre-paid wristbands allowed the children to run from water play and sponge the teacher to trampolines and inflatables to the guessing games, obstacle course and climbing wall without having to ask mum for money each time. The more games they played, the more stamps they collected. Stamps were then rewarded with prizes at the prize tent. Entertainment on the stage included the teachers' band, the dads' band, the Hornets cheerleaders, the primary ballet dancers, choirs and many more. An indoor market with 75 vendors and a secondhand toy and book stall offered lots of opportunities to shop. "The Summer Fair is the highlight of the school social calendar and takes months of hard work to organize," said Executive Principal Terry Creissen. "The children, parents and teachers have made this year's fair yet another resounding success with a record-breaking amount of money raised for our sponsored local charities."
