Scouting molds girls

The Girl Scouts at Concordia International School Shanghai are apart of a 101-year-old, wholesome institution that encourages girls to become leaders. They are also about fun. Coming to a new school can be challenging, but mix that with girls from radically different backgrounds, and it can be hard to find the common denominator for making friends. Girl Scouts encourage supportiveness and kindness to one another.

Girls also learn skills that will motivate them to grow. In acting out skits and public speaking, and in making troop decisions and thinking about how one’s actions affect others, life skills are being learned by doing. Girls are encouraged to have an opinion, make decisions and lead a group, while building confidence in themselves. They also are laughing, singing and dancing while learning. It’s a safe place where girls can be girls and know that by being a scout, they are included and held to a high standard of character, kindness and honor.

Girl Scouts have several levels, Daisy Scouts to Ambassadors. Concordia has active troops in nearly all levels.
