Chinese Actress Dies of Cancer at 26
Chinese actress Xu Ting died on September 7 after losing her battle with cancer. She was 26 years old.
Xu was diagnosed with lymphoid cancer in July and revealed her illness on Weibo.
"No matter how long I live, I want to enjoy every day happily," Xu wrote in her post.
"It seems like I've never lived for myself in 26 years...My parents had seven children and I’m the third child in the family. Over the past five years, I worked very hard to support the large family. I made money to pay for my younger brother's tuition fees, pay my parents debts and even buy a house...The pressure made me breathless...I actually felt a little bit relieved when I learnt of the cancer..."
Her last Weibo post was on August 18 in which she wrote about the pain and suffering from the disease.
In her previous posts, she wrote about the money she donated to help other patients who were sick.
The actress passed away at a hospital in Beijing. Her sister confirmed her death on Weibo in the afternoon. Condolence messages poured in after news death broke of her passing.
"Rest in peace and bring your kindheartedness to the next world. We'll always remember your sweet smile," and "Hopefully heaven knows no pain."
