A woman fell to death from fifth floor in northeast China's Jinlin Province on June 19 after having an argument with her husband, local news portal Chinajilin.com.cn reported.
A video of the incident was widely shared online in which her husband can be seen trying to save her but ultimately lost his grip.
The couple in their 30s quarreled for a long time at home on that day, a neighbor surnamed Wen said.
At around 6pm, the wife tried to jump off from the balcony but the husband grabbed her arm.
Wen said, the man persisted for around six minutes but got exhausted and had to give up.
A few residents below either failed to hold the woman. The woman fell to the ground and died immediately.
The case is under investigation.
