A woman in Wuhu city in eastern Anhui Province trying to commit suicide by jumping from a residential building was saved by firefighters at last minute, Anhui Satellite TV reported.
As a video shot by a witness shows, the woman stood on an outdoor beam beside a balcony on the 15th floor and kept crying. She held a handrail with her left hand while grasping cell phone on her right hand.
Firefighters rushed to the spot as soon as they received report. They laid air cushion on the ground floor in case the woman accidentally slipped down.
One firefighter gently moved close to the woman from behind on the eaves of the building measuring only a dozen centimeters wide with a safety rope tied his waist.
He held the woman from behind after creeping about two meters. At that moment, firefighters waiting inside the balcony next to them grabbed the woman and hauled her inside.
The whole rescue took about an hour.
The woman, a mother in her 20s, had argued with her husband, the report said.
