A video of a boy killed by electric shock while recharging his cellphone got widely shared on social media recently.
The video was captured at an Internet cafe in Guangxi's Liuzhou City on May 10.
At first, the 18-year-old surnamed Shen was playing with his cellphone while the battery was being charged on the computer.
Suddenly, he was electrocuted and toppled backward with his body turned straight.
Sparks flew up when the man sitting beside Shen unplugged the charging cable.
He found Shen had no consciousness and ran for help.
By the time the ambulance arrived, Shen was dead.
Investigation into the cause of the electricity short circuit was still ongoing.
The incident tells how unsafe it could be to use the cellphone while it is being recharged.
