Bus Driver Dies at Work, Passengers Survive

A Shanghai bus driver died of a sudden heart attack while driving on February 20.
The driver, surnamed Chen, suddenly leaned against the window and began to throw up when the bus No. 68 arrived at the intersection of Hutai and Lingshi roads at 9:52am.
Though he started to lose consciousness, Chen still tried to slam on the brakes.
At the time, a passenger helped pull the handbrake while others called the police and ambulance.
The medical staff arrived at 10:11am, and carried Chen out of the driver’s seat for emergency treatment. However, Chen was announced dead soon afterward because of a heart attack.
According to media reports, Chen, 48, recently felt ill and once went to see a doctor. He rarely worked overtime.
