A 41-year-old man from the Netherlands wound up in a local hospital after his health deteriorated following a 10-day wait in the Huanghua International Airport in Changsha, capital of central China’s Hunan Province. The man was reportedly waiting for a young woman he met online.
The lady in question, a 26-year-old surnamed Zhang, claims she didn’t show up at the appointed time because she has just undergone a plastic surgery procedure in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan Province. Her face was wrapped in gauze, as Xiaoxiang Morning Herald reported.
The man got to know Zhang on social media and flew to Changsha to meet her. They agreed to meet at the Huanghua International Airport.
When Zhang was a no-show, the man slept at the airport for ten days as he waited for her. The Dutch man, who suffers from diabetes, was eventually taken to a hospital after the prolonged wait took its toll on his health.
With his condition critical, Zhang contacted him at the hospital. They had a telephone conversation for two hours. Zhang said it was “too convenient” for her to return to Changsha. However, she said she will ask someone to look after the man.
The man went back to the Netherlands on August 1. The two didn't meet each other in the end.
