A frantic mother was finally reunited with her lost son after he disappeared from a busy department store.

The two-and-a-half-year-old child, in Wudang Mountain, Hubei Province, vanished from a local clothing supermarket when his mother went to the toilet.

The anxious mom returned from the restroom only to find her son had gone from the place she had left him. And after she searched the premises without any success the distraught woman alerted police, who checked CCTV footage to find of his whereabouts.

Surveillance cameras picked up the lost child, initially hovering around the store, before capturing him wandering on to the busy streets and roads outside the shops. He showed great maturity, taking care and attention when crossing the dangerous roads. And the child also appeared to be calm and in control as he walked almost one kilometer in Sunday morning's baking hot heat.

Police finally tracked down the adventurous boy after an hour and reunited him with his mother. The reconciliation was an emotional one with both mom and son bursting into tears.
