River in Sichuan Province Presents Two Colors

2016/11/16
Han Jing

Anning River in Lugu Town of Liangshan Prefecture in southwest China’s Sichuan Province appeared half “red” and half “green” on November 12.

It is called “Yin-Yang River” which results from two rivers converging after flowing through different water conditions.

The red part was actually from Sunshui River, a branch of Anning.

According to local people, this weird situation happens when it rains or snows in the upper reaches. However, the outsiders mistook it for industrial wastewater pollution.
