'The Master of Pen Spinning'
Program Code: 0909346161005005 Source: Tencent
Remember how you used to mindlessly spin pens on your fingers when you were bored in class? A young man has turned this trick into a form of art.
A video showing his stunning pen-spinning acts recently went viral online.
Huang Yaoqing began to know about pen tricks in high school after he saw a video promoting China’s top pen spinners. He downloaded the video and started to learn the tricks with a chopstick. It took him a few months to master a difficult act, while simple ones cost him only minutes.
Compared with other “hand sports,” pen spinning is less known, Huang said.
As his family regarded it a waste of time, Huang usually sneaked around to practice. It was not until he won the third prize in a national competition in 2013 did Huang’s parents realize that he's so good at pen spinning and finally approved it.
Through great efforts, Huang and the other four team members won the second prize in the Pen Spinning World Cup 2014.
He has become a veritable master of pen spinning in China.
