Driver Turns up Car Lights to Protect Crying Woman
What will you do when you see a woman crying in the middle of the road at midnight?
A good-hearted driver in Hangzhou saw a woman squatting in the middle of the road on his way home about 12:30am on March 25.
The man, surnamed Li, told Hangzhou Daily he nearly hit the woman in the darkness. He was going to drive on but was worried about her and asked if she needed help.
However, the woman, who wore house dress and slippers, kept crying and told Li: "Go away and leave me alone".
Although offended, Li turned up the car lights for her and called police.
He said he turned up the lights so that cars would not run into the distraught woman and he waited until police arrived.
The woman did not want to tell police why she was crying. Her husband turned up after about 10 minutes and said they had quarreled.
According to media reports, this’s not the first time Li had helped strangers.
On August 22, 2013, Li saw a girl crying by the side of the road at night. The girl told him she had a quarrel with her boyfriend and left. Li spoke to her and then called her boyfriend, who came and took her away.
