For Peace With China, Japanese Man Offers Free Hugs In Beijing
Program Code: 0909346160605012 Source: Miaopai
A video of a Japanese young man named Koichi Kuwabara promoting peace by offering free hugs on a Beijing downtown street has gone viral online.
Koichi stood on the street with arms open, eyes covered and a head band with a smiley face on it, expecting Chinese passers-by to hug him.
Two notes behind him read: "I'm a Japanese. In Japan, many people think that a majority of Chinese don't like Japanese. But I don't think that way. I trust you. Do you trust me? If you think so, can you give me a hug?"
At first, most people walked by and just looked at him. Some of them took pictures of the scene.
Then beautiful things happened. A guy stepped out to hug him.
More and more people showed their goodwill and hugged the Japanese.
Koichi Kuwabara has made it his mission to distribute ‘Free Hugs for Peace’ to as many people as he can. He has been traveling across Asia for the past five years, hugging random people on streets.
