Man Wins Respect By Guarding Hole In Road Amid Heavy Rain

A man guarded a manhole on a flooded road in rain in Haikou, capital of South China’s Hainan Province for more than an hour in order to remind passing cars and pedestrians of the possible danger as its cover was washed away by heavy rainfall. 

A resident shot the scene around the city’s Haixiu Middle Road on May 20 and posted online. The video soon went viral and netizens appreciated his kind act.

One netizen depicted the man as “the best road sign in the storm”.
