Policeman Stops Traffic to Help Elderly Man Cross Road

A video showing a police officer helping an elderly man across a busy intersection has become a hit on Chinese social media.
The incident happened in Chengdu, Sichuan Province on May 10 when an elderly man moved slowly to cross the road but got caught as the traffic lights changed.
A policeman driving by saw what was happening.
He stopped the police car on the zebra crossing to stop other vehicles from passing. Then he rushed to the man and helped him to cross the road.
After the video was posted on Weibo, it was viewed almost 500,000 times in two days.
Many netizens applauded the officer and said he did a good job. They also praised the drivers who stopped their cars to wait at the intersection. One commented, "This is a city full of love."
