Road Test For Homegrown Transit Elevated Bus
Program Code: 0909346160803003 Source: Miaopai
China's home-made transit elevated bus, TEB-1, conducted a road test yesterday, running in Qinhuangdao, north China's Hebei Province.
The 22-meter-long, 7.8-meter-wide and 4.8-meter-high TEB-1, driven by electricity, can carry up to 300 passengers. The passenger compartment of this futuristic public bus rises far above other vehicles on the road, allowing cars to pass underneath.
The compartment is equipped with 55 seats, several LCD TV screens and four real-time maps. A total of 20 erected handrails in the passenger area caters to different needs of passengers with varied heights during peak hours.
The new type bus has received heated feedbacks on social media and web users commented as follows:
I can't believe such a sci-fi idea comes true. Super cool! Maybe they will upgrade it and make it even longer.
It’s going to ease traffic jams.
I wouldn’t dare drive my car underneath the bus.
How do you even get a license to drive that thing?
What about bridges and elevated roads?
I think it might be too complex, causing even more traffic jams. It’ll be really scary when the bus overtakes from above.
