Three people from Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, have become Internet stars after they rescued two injured people from a burning car just before it exploded on December 10.
According to media reports, the car, a Passat, crashed into a parked semitrailer at around 9pm in Xuanhua and caught fire immediately.
Three young men (below, from left), Ji Chao, Qin Haijun and Xing Jianming — all in their twenties — saw the accident from their car. They immediately got off the car and rushed to pull out the male driver from the burning car.
Soon after, there was an explosion that threw the front wheel in the air. They then heard the cries of a woman coming from the car.
Without thinking, they turned back and rushed to help the woman caught up in the flames. They found the woman's legs stuck in the car, while her body was underneath the semitrailer truck, which was also on fire. With the help of passersby, they finally managed to pull out the trapped woman.
About ten seconds later, there was a huge explosion after the fuel tank exploded.
When the ambulance arrived, the two injured people were sent to the hospital, where they are reportedly recovering.
Police suspect the driver of the car was intoxicated.
