A driver of bus No.693 in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province found an unexpected gift on his bus on May 28: a bag of zongzi and duck eggs.
When he thought it was lost by a passenger, he saw a note inside which said the food was a gift for the drivers of bus No.693 as the Duanwu (Dragon Boat) Festival came closer.
After checking the surveillance videos, it was found that a passenger, aged about 60, carried the bag onto the bus that noon.
In the note, the passenger thanked the bus drivers for their hard work and also expressed his best wishes to them for the festival.
Chinese have the tradition of eating zongzi, glutinous rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves and duck eggs during the Duanwu Festival or Dragon Boat Festival which fell on May 30 this year.
The bus drivers enjoyed the delicious zongzi and felt grateful for the elderly passenger’s kindness. They were delighted further that their services have won recognition.
