A video of a man injuring two kittens has sparked outrage among social-media users.

The incident is believed to have happened in a residential compound in Shanghai.

At first, the man was seen feeding two kittens with food he carried in a bag.

While the kittens were eating, the man suddenly made a grab for them and threw them to the ground.

The kittens appeared badly hurt and were shown twitching. It is unknown whether the kittens survived their injuries or not.

The video triggered widespread anger. Many netizens accused the man of cruelty. 

The identity of the man remains unknown. However, according to some commenters, the man is a tutor for a student living in the compound where the act took place.
