Boy with Infantile Paralysis Forced to Eat Faeces
A video showing a schoolboy in Beijing's Yanqing being forced to eat feces by his schoolmates was widely shared on social media on Saturday evening.
According to the Yanqing police, the bully students also asked the victim for more than 100 yuan (US$15) and did physical harm to him before forcing him to eat feces.
Five students involved in the case were fined but exempted from punishment of administrative detention because they are under the age of 16, while two others under the age of 14 were not punished.
The boy, who reportedly suffers from infantile paralysis or Polio, a muscle weakness, can be seen touching and grabbing the human excrement and licking his fingers twice, which had touched the faeces.
The footage immediately sparked fury among Chinese netizens and also drew the attention from Yanqing's education commission who soon launched an investigation.
The commission confirmed on Sunday that all students involving the case were from Yanqing No.2 Middle School.
The school has arranged psychological counseling for the bullied student.
