Colorful, Cute But Cruel! Dyed Chicks Sold As Pets
Small chicks dyed to look exotic would be an anathema when you know how it happens.
Everyone must have seen normal chicks with pale yellow furs.
But have you ever seen colorful chicks?
Nowadays, dyed chicks are being sold by many street vendors in China, where they attract the attention of passers-by due to their unnatural colors.
The chicks are cheap so they are popular with kids who love their cute looks.
But if you know how these chicks are dyed, you won't buy them anymore.
First the new born chicks are put into a large basin.
Then vendors sprinkle dye on the little bird's body.
They stir the chicks continuously.
After a minute or so, the chicks are dyed in green or blue or pink. Pathetic cheeps can always be heard during this operation.
Then vendors put dyed chickens into a basket to dry them.
And here comes the colorful chicks!
Now you know how callous such a transformation process is.
In fact, most of the dyed chicks become poor in health due to this and may die very soon. A child would never like their cute little playmates to go through such a life-threatening exercise.
Otherwise as well, chicks from unknown sources can easily spread bacteria.
Dyed chicks look beautiful. But if they are colored with inferior dye, they can also be harmful for human beings.
Last but not least, if the animal carcasses are not treated properly, they can be an environment hazard.
Too many wrongs can be avoided if you could explain to your kids all the above and stop buying such chicks.
