A reckless bus driver who put the lives of his customers at risk by peeling an apple and playing on his phone while at the wheel has been banned from driving passenger vehicles for life.

An onboard video captured the negligent driver peeling an apple, fidgeting on his mobile phone and having a video chat while in control of a bus on the Taizhou to Nanjing highway on July 11, which shocked hundreds on social media.

His dangerous actions sparked fury online with one netizen calling the driver "a crazy bastard."

The traffic police department later revealed the driver has been blacklisted and banned from driving passenger vehicles for life.
