14 die in bus crash

A BUS carrying Russian pilgrims crashed in Ukraine yesterday, killing 14 of the 45 people on board. The crash took place about 5:30am when the driver apparently lost control and the bus veered off the road and overturned, said Ukrainian emergency services. Another 29 people were taken to hospital with injuries from the crash near Chernihiv, about 150 kilometers northeast of Kiev. Russian news reports said the pilgrims were headed for the Holy Dormition Monastery in western Ukraine's Pochayev.
