14 injured after train derails at Australia's Brisbane station

A total 14 people sustained various minor injuries when a passenger train derailed at the Cleveland Railway Station in Brisbane, Australia, this morning.

Queensland Ambulance Service said the incident occurred at around 9:40 am (local time) and 14 patients were treated by paramedics at the scene, with 10 of them taken to Redland Hospital for further assessment.

Thirteen passengers, a driver and a guard were on board when the train's front carriage crashed onto the platform and into the toilets, according to the Australian Associated Press.

One woman was trapped inside the toilet but was found unhurt and rescued.

Investigations into the incident are underway.
