1st A/H1N1 case confirmed in Turkey
TURKISH Health Ministry confirmed its first influenza A/H1N1 case today, an official statement said in Ankara.
The statement issued by the Turkish Health Ministry said that a foreigner, who came from the United State on his way through Amsterdam for Iraq, has brought A/H1N1 virus to Turkey through Istanbul Ataturk Airport.
The male foreigner was found suffering from high fever at the entrance of the airport after the result of the Turkish test, and the man was placed under observation in a hospital in Istanbul.
Turkish Health Minister Recep Akdag said that Turkish health officials would declare this incident at Istanbul Airport Nort Hotel this morning.
Turkey has placed thermal cameras at airports and sea ports to detect people with flu.
