2 bodies of Indian navy sailors found in sunken submarine

Two bodies of Indian navy sailors found in sank submarine INS Sindhurakshak this morning, which was destroyed by explosion and major fire two days ago, local news channel CNN-IBN reported.

After more than 60 hours of rescue, the divers found two bodies in the submarine. But the rescue work is very slow as the tremendous heat from the explosions and fire has fused the submarine's hatches. It took hours for divers to open the main hatch on Wednesday.

Indian navy yesterday released the names of the 18 navy personnel trapped and were feared dead, including 3 officers and 15 sailors.

At least 18 Indian navy personnel remained trapped after a Russian-made Indian Navy submarine caught fire, exploded and sank shortly after midnight on Wednesday in a major marine base in downtown Mumbai, which was described by local media as the worst navy disaster since 1971 and a major setback for the Indian Navy.
