5.9-magnitude quake hits N. Sumatra, Indonesia

AN earthquake measuring 5.9 jolted northern Sumatra, Indonesia at 0434 GMT on Saturday, the US Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 97.40 km, was initially determined to be at 2.9635 degrees north latitude and 97.9111 degrees east longitude.
