6.0-magnitude earthquake hits off Japan's Honshu

An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted the waters off the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 9:22am Beijing Time today, according to the China Earthquake Network Center.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10km, was monitored at 39.7 degrees north latitude and 143.1 degrees east longitude, the center said.
