6.7 magnitude quake strikes off eastern Indonesia

A shallow undersea quake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale jolted eastern Indonesia on Friday, an official of the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency told Xinhua by phone.
A US Geological Survey report put the quake at 6.9 on the Richter scale, saying the epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 2.1 degrees north latitude and 127.0 degrees east longitude.
