7 soldiers killed in Venezuela helicopter crash

A Venezuelan military helicopter crashed in the country's southern plains yesterday, killing seven soldiers, the military said.
The Super Puma helicopter crashed at 5:15am as it was starting a counter-drug operation in Apure state, the military said in a statement. It said the cause of the crash was under investigation.
President Hugo Chavez expressed condolences in a televised speech, saying those killed included a captain, a major, a lieutenant and four other soldiers. Chavez said a group of helicopters had been taking off at the time.
