Afghan President orders investigation into deadly air strike

AFGHAN President Hamid Karzai has ordered an investigation into the deadly air strike that left over 100 people dead and injured early yesterday, according to a press release issued today by the government.

President Hamid Karzai has assigned a fact fining mission consisted of officials from Interior Ministry, National Security Directorate and other concerned bodies to thoroughly investigate the Kunduz incident and report to presidency at its earliest, the press release said.

In the bloody incident occurred yesterday, according to local officials, nearly 100 people, mostly civilians, had been killed when the militants hijacked two oil tankers and distributed the object to locals.

NATO's top commander to Afghanistan General Stanly McChrystal also announced to initiate probe in the case.

Meantime, Taliban outfit in a statement rejected the claim of inflicting casualties on its fighters and described all the victims as non-combatants, but the claim has been dismissed by local officials.
