Ambassador suffers stroke

PHILIPPINE President Benigno Aquino III has ordered the replacement of an ambassador sent to China three months ago to resolve a territorial rift.
Sonia Brady, 71, has been in hospital in Beijing since suffering a stroke last week.
Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario said he met Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi while in Beijing to discuss ways to improve relations strained by a standoff between Chinese and Philippine ships at Huangyan Island in the South China Sea.
