AT least 8 people were killed when a passenger train collided with a cargo one late yesterday in eastern Germany, local media reported.
Some 20 others were seriously injured when the freight train collided with a passenger train in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, said the German Press Agency dpa, citing police sources.
Both trains were ablaze following the incident and the reason for the collision was not immediately known, said dpa.
Previous reports claimed that 10 people had been killed.
