BEIJING, March 28 (Xinhuanet) -- 21 days since Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 disappeared and search operations in the Southern Indian Ocean have shifted to a new area based on a new credible lead.
Authorities say the new information is based on data on the aircraft’s movement between the South China Sea and the Strait of Malacca before radar contact was lost.
This analysis indicates the plane was travelling faster than was previously estimated. That may have resulted in increased fuel usage and reduced the possible distance it travelled south in the Indian Ocean. More analysis could refine the flight path of MH370 further.
