Australian plane detects suspicious signal in MH370 search

AN Australian search plane has detected a possible signal in hunt for missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, the search coordination center said on Thursday.

"Whilst conducting an acoustic search this afternoon a RAAF AP-3C Orion aircraft has detected a possible signal in the vicinity of the Australian Defense Vessel Ocean Shield," Angus Houston, chief coordinator of the Joint Agency Coordination Center, said in a statement.

"The acoustic data will require further analysis overnight but shows potential of being from a man-made source," he added.
