A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden car at a police station in the Somali capital yesterday, killing at least 17 people and wounding 35, a police officer said. The country's most dangerous militant group claimed responsibility.
A training station for government troops was targeted. The car exploded only 10 meters beyond a security gate after police fired at the bomber, said a witness.
