Brits behaving not so badly abroad

DESPITE the continuing tales of drunkenness and mayhem involving Brits on holiday, the number of United Kingdom citizens who ran into legal trouble abroad dropped in the last year, a Foreign Office report said today.
Spain saw the highest number of overall arrests of British citizens, but countries with the most drug-related arrests included Jamaica, Argentina, Brazil, Serbia and Peru.
And people remain at risk for such exotic crimes as wearing camouflage in Barbados, says the report, because over two-thirds of Britons do not look up local laws before going away.
Others to avoid are wearing a bikini in the streets of Barcelona and making satirical jokes about the Thai royal family.
Proportionally, British citizens were most likely to be arrested in the USA and Thailand, the report said but the total number of British arrests across the world, however, dropped by over 10 percent from the previous year.
The annual report also shows that Spain continues to be the country with the most Britons hospitalized, a figure which has increased since last year.
