POLICE raided homes in several Bulgarian towns overnight and arrested 18 people for spreading child pornography on the Internet, the Interior Ministry said today.
The arrests followed a signal from Germany last year that internet users from 92 countries were exchanging hundreds of images of violence and sexual abuse against children online, the ministry said.
Police seized computers, laptops and CD-ROMs believed to contain pornographic material.
Prosecutors raised charges against the detained, who face up to six years in prison if convicted.
