Car explosion kills 2 in North Jakarta, Indonesia

A car exploded at a freeway gate of Muara Angke of North Jakarta today, killing two people, local television reported.

The blast occurred following two major explosions in two luxurious hotels, the JW Marriot Hotel and the Ritz Carlton Hotel, in South Jakarta two hours earlier.

"We have information that an explosion occurred there. We are deploying our officials to the location. However, we are still not sure what the source of the explosion is," Vivi, an official at Jasa Marga, the freeway operator, told the private news portal Detikcom.

The incident was occurred on 10:30 local time (0330 GMT).
