Chinese citizens advised to avoid protest sites
Chinese citizens now in Bangkok or about to leave for the city were warned yesterday to avoid protest sites.
In a statement posted on its website, the Chinese embassy in Thailand urged Chinese citizens to avoid major demonstration sites in Bangkok, including the Democracy Monument and the Office of the Prime Minister.
Chinese citizens can contact the embassy for protection when in need, the statement said.
Anti-government protesters stormed 13 state offices yesterday in Bangkok, pressing for Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to step down.
