Climate Change May Impact GDP
CLIMATE change could cut gross domestic product in countries at a high risk from weather catastrophes by up to a fifth by 2030 unless urgent steps are taken, a report said yesterday.
The study by the United Nations-backed Economics of Climate Adaption Working Group aims to provide a way to evaluate the cost of climate change and suggest ways to keep the bill down.
The study looked at eight areas around the world at high risk from droughts, hurricanes, floods and rising sea levels.
