Compensation Delayed
JAPAN delayed the announcement yesterday of a plan to help Tokyo Electric Power compensate victims of the crisis at its tsunami-crippled nuclear plant and save Asia's largest utility from financial ruin.
The delay comes amid on ongoing wrangle between Japan's government and Tepco over who should foot the bill for the crisis at the Fukushima Dai-ichi plant.
The scheme will be further discussed in Prime Minister Naoto Kan's Cabinet today.
