Concern Over Libya Weapons

THE United States and its regional partners have real concerns about weapons from Libya ending up in the hands of al-Qaida, the commander of the US military's Africa Command General Carter F. Ham said yesterday.

Algeria's delegate minister for Africa and Maghreb Affairs Abdelkader Messahel added: "Libya is now a huge depot of arms ... and we know that sophisticated weapons have been transferred from Libya to northern Mali."
