Containers shed
THIRTY-ONE shipping containers of ammonium nitrate fell off a ship in stormy seas off Australia early yesterday, damaging the ship's hull and leaking up to 30 tons of oil into the ocean.
The containers held 694 tons of fertilizer - which can be used to make explosives, said Captain John Watkinson, the general manager of Maritime Safety in Queensland state. He said the risk of an explosion was low.
