DPRK fires 5 short-range missiles into east waters

THE Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) fired five short-range projectiles, presumed to be tactical missiles, into east waters yesterday afternoon, Yonhap News Agency reported citing the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The five projectiles were fired off between 4:20pm and 5:10pm local time from Wonsan area in eastern DPRK into a northeasterly direction. Those are estimated to have flown about 200km.

The South Korean military is closely monitoring the DPRK's possible firings of additional missiles.
